The Medieval village of Porrona, built during the XII century B.C., belonged for five centuries to two noble families from Siena, the Tolomei and the Piccolomini until 1894 when it became property of Pietro Emilio Targes de Rochefort, a member of the French aristocracy.
Today Porrona is a charming village where still live few local people. The abandoned building part of the village are now part of the private property and owners who decided to open here a 5* boutique hotel.
